Today, many understand the correlation between diversity and inclusion (D&I), sustainable growth, business performance, innovation, brand equity and share price. Diversity and Inclusion is a much-debated topic at board level and in companies. When it comes to execution, we are not there yet. Overall, there is still a lot of work to be done in our country to create truly inclusive interactions at whatever level of the organisation.

Inclusiveness starts with the recognition of the need for diversity. But this is only a very first step. Building inclusive groups at board or executive committee level requires to respond to some challenging questions:

• How can D&I create a competitive advantage?
• What do we need to do to create an inclusive, high performance culture and equitable practices in our organizations?

As Women on Board and together with Korn Ferry, we are at the heart of this debate. How do we come to grips with our own unconscious bias?

Mrs. Dominique Leroy is Chief Executive Officer and Board member at Proximus. She started in the Telecom sector in October 2011 as VP Sales at Belgacom and became Executive Vice President of the Consumer Business in June 2012. She joined the Proximus (formerly Belgacom) Executive Committee at the same time, becoming CEO of the Group in January 2014. She is Board Member and Chairwomen of a number of companies.

Mr. Stijn De Rammelaere is the Co-Founder & Managing Partner of Profacts, a young and flexible full-service research agency.

Mr. Olivier Courtois leads Korn Ferry Advisory Services for Belgium and Luxembourg. Besides, he coaches CEOs at the Korn Ferry Executive to Leader Institute in their transition from executive to enterprise leader. He has 30 years of experience in leading leadership development, assessment and group effectiveness.

Dési Kimmins is Head of Leadership Development for Korn Ferry EMEA, based in the firm’s London office. Dési is a regular key-note speaker on Diversity & Inclusion. Ms. Kimmens earned a master’s degree in social and organization psychology from Leiden University.
