Dear members,
Dear partners,

This time we want to bring you three messages from the board. Before we do this, we want to send you a warm, virtual hug to acknowledge the work you do in these special times.

  1. This decade will be the critical decade of action to rethink and reset the future in a sustainable way. Boards have to show leadership to decrease carbon emission this decade to bring it to zero in 2050, according to the Greendeal. Research of Women on Board and its Partner Profacts has shown that organisations with gender-diverse boards are believed to generate more added value on strong long-term vision, sustainability and considering the impact of the climate. Women on Board has the ambition to support its members to strengthen the board they are serving with this engagement. We organise events around the theme, together with our Corporate Partners. But we want to do more, like organise a two-yearly training program, become a member of The Shift, etc… We want to install a working group to work out Women on Board’s engagement for a sustainable future. If you are interested let it know to trees.paelinck@womenonboard.be.
  2. The core values of Women on Board are our members and the service we offer to boards looking for new board members to contact boardable women. Concretely these contacts are taken based on the member’s profile in our database. It is of utmost importance to keep your personal data up to date. So, fill in your recent board mandates and update your professional qualifications and relevant competencies. The best board members are investing in lifelong learning. We know many of you are, so please let this be known to the companies and search offices that consult the member’s database.
  3. The board installed a Nomination Committee to prepare a call for candidates for new board members for the board of Women on Board. The board decided to run an open hiring process, for two female and two male board members. The call will be launched in the next months.

On March 8th the UN celebrates International Women’s Day. It has become a tradition that Women on Board joins Women in Finance to open the stock exchange Euronext on this day.
