Progress in female corporate leadership is evident, but still too slow in a number of European countries

New European research shows: companies need to Intensify efforts and some countries have more work than others.

Brussels, 18 January 2021 – The Gender Diversity Index 2020 shows slow yet steady progress in Europe but major differences when looking at the individual countries. Companies from Norway, France, the UK, Finland, and Sweden are closest to having gender-balanced governance. Companies from Poland and Czech Republic are far from balanced in their leadership choices. Countries with binding quotas are present at the top and at the bottom of the list, so clearly, we need to look at all the legislation and social norms in those countries that are performing well.
